Forensic
Authenticity Analyses of Audio/Video Evidence
Whether you are the proponent or opponent of the
audio or video evidence,
expert determination of a recordings authenticity may at least affect the weight of
the evidence, if not make a difference in its admissibility. Please note that Dr. Yonovitz
and Mr. Joe have been authenticating audio and video evidence for
over 52 combined-years,
and their authenticity procedures have overcome the only two Daubert challenges
mounted against them.
As unbiased forensic
audio/video examiners, Y&J can objectively, thoroughly
and properly authenticate both the content and magnetic patterns of the recording(s) at
issue. The most thorough forensic analysis is of the original tape(s)/recording(s) and the
putative original
recorder(s). Thorough Forensic Authenticity Analysis of a recording ensures that evidence of
any type of tampering will be exposed, and any signs suggestive of falsification will be
appropriately analyzed and explained. (A recording may be also analyzed to determine
whether or not that it is the original or if it is a copy.)
Beware of examiners who misconstrue poor recordings for tampered
recordings, or examiners who cannot detect all types of signs suggestive of falsification.

required to reveal and demonstrate authenticity or tampering -- regardless of which
